Philosophy of the Department

The philosophy of the Marketing program is to develop innovative marketers who understand consumer needs and can create value in competitive business environments. Our curriculum integrates marketing theory with practical skills in digital marketing, brand management, and market analysis to prepare students for dynamic marketing careers.

We emphasize data-driven decision making, creative problem-solving, and ethical marketing practices. The program aims to produce graduates who can develop effective marketing strategies, build strong brands, and drive business growth in both local and global markets.

Marketing Fundamentals
To develop expertise in marketing principles, consumer behavior, and market analysis
To cultivate understanding of digital marketing strategies and brand management
To foster awareness of ethical and sustainable marketing practices
Practical Skills
To train students in marketing research, campaign development, and data analytics
To develop skills for strategic planning and digital marketing implementation
To prepare graduates for careers in brand management, digital marketing, and market research
(UTME)
Minimum of five credits at Ordinary Level in GCE, SSCE, or equivalent examinations. Credits must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and two other subjects. Combinations from WAEC/NECO at not more than two sittings are acceptable.
UTME subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any other Social Science or Arts subject
Successful completion of Obong University's post-UTME screening and interview
Direct Entry
Two Advanced Level Passes in Economics, Business Management, Accounting or related subjects plus credits at Ordinary Level as specified above
Diploma in Marketing, Business Administration or related fields with minimum Upper Credit
NCE with merit in relevant disciplines
